Introduction to the PhRMA Code
The PhRMA Code, while technically voluntary, is a critical guide to how all pharmaceutical sales representatives should conduct themselves. Following this industry wide code of conduct, makes it much easy to stay in compliance and provides a framework for each individual company’s own code of conduct.

On-Label PromotionThe PhRMA Code is designed to help manufacturers maintain the highest ethical and legal standards when interacting with Healthcare Professionals. It also helps manufacturers ensure their interactions with Healthcare Professionals are not perceived as inappropriate by the public. In June 2008, PhRMA’s executive committee voted to adopt an updated version of the PhRMA Code on Interactions with Healthcare Professionals effective January 2009.
